Is anyone else experiencing problems with their broadband connection. I’ve been dealing with intermittent service for the past two months. I can usually get a connection after midnight and before 6 a.m. After that, nothing but dial up.

One of the most used portions of roads under the jurisdiction of the Patterson Twp. Roads Board is the section of Hawthorne Drive from Limber Lost to the dump. Every spring the Roads Board takes a tour of the township and decides on needed improvements for the year.

Would you like to see this section of Hawthorne get similar surface treatment as the rest of Hawthorne Drive? Leave a comment.

I spoke with John Woods of Bell Canada this afternoon about the status of the Restoule Cell Tower. John said

You can let people know things are still moving forward and we will have a launch date for this site in a month or so.

Let’s hope we can use our cell phones soon and get better Internet broadband connections.

Full time Restoule residents enjoy the return of cottagers and campers to the area. Old friendships are renewed and new ones made.

However, there is a small group of tourons who are unwelcome. These are the people who think our road side is the local dumping ground. In Restoule, volunteers go out in the spring and fall and clean up the garbage left by these tourons. Its hard work and very messy. If you see any tourons, please ask them to dispose of their garbage properly.

  In the last 6 weeks I’ve had one day of golf in the sun. We’ve had so much rain lately, its depressing. I’m ready for some summer weather.

The maintenance or non-maintenance of Hwy. 534 between Restoule and Powassan is a disgrace. Tourist unaware of the condition of the road are risking tire and suspension damage. Worst of all, when the holes are patched it makes some stretches of the road almost impassible. The road no longer exiists in some areas. It is just one patch on top of another.

The Federal government gave a large grant to the Province recently for the purpose of improving the roads in Ontario. Obviously the money was spent elsewhere. It is nice to know the Liberals at Queens Park have time and money to consider funding sex change operations benefiting very few, while unable to properly maintain roads in tourist areas which would benefit many.

Don’t you just love the way politicians promise everything and deliver squat of a practical nature.
