Site regular, Laurie, has suggested we do a cell service poll to determine if there is much demand for cell service in Restoule. It is a multiple choice questionaire.

As an occasional traveller to Restoule (hi dad!), I am always apprehensive when I lose cell reception – especially up there in the winter while driving with children in the car. From experience, I know that folks up there are generally friendly and willing to pull the tourists (that’s me!) out of the ditch when we need it – but there have been days up there where you can drive forEVER without passing another living soul… without a phone… what then??
What then you ask? Nothing….I am a cottager with no phone no power so cell phone would be great…oh we did have phones…analog but Ma Bell cut that!
So we are left along with all the residents of Restoule and vicinity with no connection in an emergency. Money is spent for the tower site but….yawn….they wil get around to building it..someday..soon …maybe…hopefully…they hope..they think…who knows…or the biggest who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bravo to you Wilma for the voice of the women young and old in this community. I also feel the same when I even consider staying at the cottage alone…I have no phone and would feel cut off should I need help for any reason.
So kudos to you!
Yes, I would like cell phone service. It is necessary for women travelling alone in this remote area.
